Megalith Records distribution deal!

Recently we struck a deal with MVD Entertainment Group to start distributing our releases throughout the United States. What does this mean? It means that soon you will find our releases in your favorite music retail shops, or you can at least have your favorite retail shops start ordering our releases.

http://mvdb2b.com/mvdaudio

MVD are probably most well known for their vast music DVD catalog (http://mvdb2b.com/mvd/), on the ska side of things, they have put out DVDs by Bad Manners, The Selecter, The English Beat, The Pietasters and Fishbone as well as your standard reggae releases like Bob Marley and dancehall releases by Shaggy and other various artists. But, they are NOT a sole ska distributor, quite the contrary, most of their catalog consists of metal, rock, classic rock and other crazy DVDs. Thus our reason for trying to beef up their ska section.

This relationship first started with MVD contacting us about releasing a live recording of The Toasters from 2002 at CBGBs. This release has been doing great in retail stores so far, which is very encouraging for our Megalith releases being sucess in the modern retail shop.

So be on the lookout in shops near you and start telling them to look for more ska releases through MVD!

Blog, blog, blog, blog......blogs!

Just created a new menu item, and a new user role. Media User. This role will be assigned to certain members, including members of The Toasters to post blogs and messages here on the site that specifically relate to the band and the record label.

Skaboom semi-action figures

Well I have started modelling my first Skaboom "statuette". I plan to cast moulds of him and fully paint him. If all goes well I plan to do the rest of the figures from the cover of the Skaboom album. The figure will about 6-7 inches tall. At this point I'm not sure if there are going to be moveable parts or not. I would need to experiment with a casted figure first before I start cutting up my original. Eventually I would like to move through the spectrum of Moon releases that either Bob Fingerman or Tanino Liberatore drew.

Check out the early stages here http://megalithrecords.com/gallery/v/Art/SkaboomFigures/

Calendar working....somewhat....

Well I am getting the calendar sorted out now, still having a few issues with the Block view. Placed some temporary markers on the side to dictact what will be there once completed. Under the small calendar view there will be a short list of upcoming events, probably the next 5 or 7 depending how large the information is. This will be a quick reference to the current weeks shows and allow users to click on them specifically or a "more" link that will take them to a full listing of shows from the current date forward.

As soon as the calendar is %100 I will start working on the visuals to the site. What you see now is just the basic default template, the site will "look" completely different, but still retain this "modular" feel for layout.

The Toasters EURO TOUR 2008 : New Megalith Records Releases

Hello everyone,

The Toasters start their 2008 EURO TOUR in 1 day...!
Here is a run down off all the shows, for more details visit the calendar. Also, be sure to check out all the great Deal's Gone Bad US Tour dates as well! These guys are all over the map, so go to a ska show!

The Toasters will be touring with Babylove And The Van Dangos April 17th - May 14th, then with Fast Food Orchestra for the rest of the dates. Both bands have brand new albums out. Fast Food Orchestra's Urban Menu is available now, with Babylove's Lover's Choice to be available June 30th.

Also, if you are visiting Megalith Records .com right now, you will see the workings of the new site already underway. If you wish to post on the forum, please use the login boxes at the top and request a new password for better security. The site is still under works and will continue to change visually over the next few months, so bear with us!

We have some new albums on the horizon as well, looks for new releases from The Deskarats, 3 Minute Warning, Don Segundo and more, all in physical pressings, plus many many many more digital releases coming every month, such as SuperHiks, Freddy Loco, St. Petersburg Ska Jazz Review Live, RiceRokit, Toasters Frankenska, Fast Food Orchestra's first 2 albums and much more!

These all come just in time for our newest deal, MVD (Music Video Distribution) has just released a 2002 live CBGBs recording of The Toasters, with this release we have sparked a deal to get Megalith Records titles into their distribution catalog. This means, in the next few months, stores all around North America will be able to place wholesale orders to get our cds in their stores! There is not a lot of ska music in the stores these days, so we hope to get some positive placement out there. Be sure to tell your local music shops to carry the MVD catalog...
