The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble.....a brand new album in less than three years, definitely a very good thing for ska music these days. It's a wonderful thing to hear a band come out with new tunes on a regular basis and with this new release, along with a 'best of' collection coming out, we might even see some NYSJE tour action in the US this year.
With a 50/50 split of instrumental to lyrical/vocal tunes, this album is sure to please every die hard traditional ska-jazzy fan out there, heck there is even a Beatle cover on there! Other highlights include the return of Cary Brown on the keys and a new drummer (Yao Dinizulu) who is smokin'! And of course more flute action! So if you love them already, here's is a new one that is sure to please, and if you are still undecided, this one should lead your dancin' feet in the right direction.
