What do you get when you mix Americana Texas rock with ska? Channel One! The band is a surprising sound that plays out how most modern rock bands SHOULD sound. Only this band manages to incorporate reggae and ska musical elements that don't feel forced or out of place. With honest lyrics that I'm sure most of us can relate to and a really talented bunch of musicians, this band is definitely one to watch. The lead singer and song writer Gerald, has definitely put a lot of thought time and effort into his music, making sure everything is lined up and set down in all the right places.

I'm hard pressed to find another band to compare them to, which is what one always tries to do. Which I think is a good thing, Channel One are not your standard run of the mill ska rock band, their unique sense of Southern ideals and progressive musical combination makes this one of the more interesting albums I've heard this year.

Their live shows are always big and loud and full of energy, hopefully we will start getting them out of Texas and on the road soon!
